Before
Their living room felt crowded & closed in.
She liked to collect antiques and had inherited wonderful furniture but the placement produced an enclosed feeling.
After
The living room feels open and uncluttered. We angled the chairs, switched the area rugs and added a pair of antique prints to accent the window.
We placed a small table under the window where there was none and filled an open space that was distracting.
After
Now you can see the wall and it has opened up the room in space and decorative possibilities.
I visited the Antiques Warehouse one afternoon and after seeing many wonderful options for an armoire, I sent my client down there. She picked out this wonderful antique English armoire with her husband.
We placed the 2 vintage accent chairs that she inherited from her grandmother, on either side of the armoire. We shopped Bernadette Breu for accessories and my client picked out the antique urn for on top of the armoire. She also found the antique prints for either side of the armoire at Monticello.
After everything was in place the room had made an amazing transformation.
Before
The entertainment center takes up the entire wall and makes the room feel very small.
After
The room is warm and inspiring, a feeling of comfort and charm ingulfs the space.
The antique mirrors and prints are the only new addition to this wall. After switching the area rug and hanging up the wall art, everything changed.
Before
What was missing from this area of the room was warmth. The mirror was to small and had no substance.
The client had already changed the rugs which helped with the color conflict and the vintage accent chairs felt stuck.
